Standalone Plug Shooter

Plug shooting, the process of firing projectiles through the inner diameters of tubes, is a proven cleaning technique.  Transformix gives you a choice of robust, autoloading Plug Shooters that can operate either as portable standalone units or as integrated parts of larger finishing systems.

Transformix Plug Shooters are equipped with geometric prefeeders that singulate projectiles and position them in a launching chamber. The projectiles can then be fired automatically or semi-automatically, according to the needs of your particular process.

Transformix Plug Shooters come in two basic types:

  • The 5000 Series is designed for portable, standalone operation and features integrated PLC control.
  • The 4000 Series is designed for permanent integration into existing tube processing lines and is piloted by the external controller of your choice.

Within each Series, you can shoot wet and/or dry plugs, with automatic presoaking from up to three different source tanks. Base versions allow the firing of cylindrical plugs with quick-change tooling available to adapt to customized plugs of various geometries. For fully automated applications, tubes can be positioned with our Linear and Lateral In-Feed Conveyors and held with our Clamp and Seal Units.

Note that if you require more than tube cleaning and plug shooting, Transformix remains your go-to source. Our standard Plug Shooters are only a small part of our offerings,  which include custom turnkey systems for complete tube processing: loading, unloading and handling; cutting; end-forming; welding; polishing; bending; non-destructive testing; etc.
